Hot commodity
Information is the world's most plentiful, varied, and fast-changing commodity. It's everywhere, and in enormous quantity. It takes many forms — from text and still and moving images to sound and numeric data — and it continues to evolve. Information drives our economy. It permeates our daily lives. And it is what keeps our staff awake at night, thinking of better ways to retrieve, organize, manage, and ensure access to this most vital of resources.
The amount of information wrapped around a physical object increases the intrinsic value of the object. What we know about an object makes it more or less valuable to us. Gold has more value because it is known to be scarce; this piece of information of its supply is the reason for a major part of its price. Other elements that contribute to its value are its characteristics such as inertness, malleability, softness, etc.
Yet this commodity (relevant information) is widely scattered among our internal and external data structures. A few years ago we were only concerned about numeric information in our databases and textual information in our documents, today we need to manage our information in emails, blogs, instant messengers, videos and podcasts.
Gold Standard for Business Intelligence

How many of us have attended a training class to learn how to use Google? How many times have we waited to receive the results of our query from Google? If the unruly world of textual/Image and video information can be tamed to deliver us relevant, timely, accurate and complete information available on the web why can’t we expect the same outcome from our internal data structures that are managed by our internal experts? Why is the acceptance of business intelligence tools so poor that we have a significant shelf ware in client organizations? Why hasn’t business intelligence seeped into our operational staff?
Browser as a presentation layer
If the underlying information infrastructure is optimized to improve retrieval of relevant information, with a confidence factor upwards of 99% a simple browser based access tool can deliver instantly understandable patterns in the underlying information. Hence the move towards browser based BI tools. So as IT professionals we need to focus on improving organization, retrieval, presentation and management of information with the goal of delivering information any time anywhere by any means to a client with the highest level of confidence in the results.
At Express Analytics we strive to make this a reality. We can blow our own horn but it is our clientele who has reaped the rewards of our insight and expertise. So why wait! Try our proof of performance program before you make any decisions to invest in business intelligence.
